Tesla has acted publicly regarding its current GPL violations and has announced that they've taken their first steps toward compliance.

- we are seeking to both
- (a) confirm that we are able to build binaries from the source that correspond to the binaries Tesla ships and
- (b) verify that we are able to replace the binaries Tesla ships with our own (possibly modified) binaries, i.e. using installation instructions that Tesla might provide
